Founder Steven Haley describes the Brain Science Foundation as “an entrepreneurial approach to gift giving that is project-oriented and milestone driven.” With a focus on meningioma and other primary brain tumors, the Brain Science Foundation systematically funds seed projects that would not ordinarily qualify for more traditional means of funding. This funding philosophy allows researchers and clinicians to focus on the science and leads they think are most promising. Often BSF funding allows investigators to gather enough pilot data to leverage additional funding beyond the BSF’s initial grants, thereby freeing up the BSF to invest in new  projects to promote promising research, accelerate clinical application and expedite brain tumor discoveries.

The Brain Science Foundation relies on the help of supporting members who are committed to the Brain Science Foundation mission for help in supporting several projects that are in need of additional funding. Supporting members are able to target their contributions toward specific Brain Science Foundation initiatives and gain exclusive access to project progress reports and fund balances. Funding needs are listed by Portfolio and then Project Title and can be accessed through the following links or in our Research Accomplishments section. You can also see new research projects that are coming online via The Meningioma Project.

If you would like additional information, including budgetary information as it relates to these funding needs, or would like to discuss giving to other projects not listed, please contact us at 781-239-2903 or by e-mail at info@brainsciencefoundation.org.
