BSF Board Member's Book is Available
The Brain Science Foundation is excited to announce that Board Member Liz Holzemer’s first book, "Curveball: When Life Throws You a Brain Tumor"
was recently released.
Liz is a seven-year survivor of a baseball-sized meningioma. Through the support organization she founded, Meningioma Mommas, a 24-hour, online support group, Liz has helped raise $25,000 for meningioma-specific research funded through The Brain Science Foundation’s Meningioma Project.
Brain Science Foundation Executive Director Kristin O’Sullivan notes that “Liz Holzemer's 'Curveball' allows the reader to accompany her on an intimate journey from the shocking diagnosis of a meningioma brain tumor through her treatment, recovery and life as a survivor. Liz is truly that- a survivor. While I am sure no two people experience this kind of journey in exactly the same way, Liz shares so much of herself and imparts significant knowledge that is of tremendous value not only to meningioma and other brain tumor patients but to all of us. I so appreciated the education I received from reading this book in my professional capacity, but I was also struck by the universal lessons of resilience and leading one's life with purpose so beautifully dealt with in 'Curveball' I highly recommend this book!”
A percentage of every sale of “Curveball” will be allocated to meningioma research.
