New Findings from the Meningioma Consortium: Gene Expression in Meningiomas May Vary by Hormone Receptor Status

January 2008 – Cancer Research recently published data from BSF investigators Dr. Elizabeth B. Claus, Ph.D (at left), Dr. Peter Black, Ph.D., and Dr. Rona Carroll, Ph.D, that are the first to examine gene expression for meningioma cases by hormone receptor status. Findings indicate a stronger association with progesterone status than with estrogen status, suggesting that progesterone status may be a clinical marker for genetic subgroups of meningioma.
